Thailand, the Land of Smiles, or perhaps more recently that should be the Forced Grin. Thailand has it all; beautiful beaches, lush tropical forests, mountains and rivers. The charming people, forever smiling, are as welcoming as anywhere on the planet. The five star hotels offer a level service rarely matched elsewhere in the world and at a more budget level the 3 and 4 star hotels are extremely good value with excellent service.
Thailand’s cuisine is exported all over the world and justly so, the richly flavoured soups and curries and hot spicy dishes are simply delicious. All the ingredients can be bought in any of the thousands of small markets which are a defining mark of the country. The Thais like to trade like no one else. Wherever two people might gather someone will be selling them noodles.
Since the early 90’s golf has been a boom industry and with over 200 courses nationwide it is a Mecca for travelling golfers. We like to break the country down into the main golfing regions. The Northern cities of Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai, the capital Bangkok, the original R & R beach of Pattaya, the royal city of Hua Hin and the tropical islands of Phuket and Samui. If it is your first time to Thailand then we suggest a two centre holiday, three if you want to see Bangkok.
As you will fly into Bangkok it would make sense to spend a day or two there if you haven't already seen it. If you have then simply change planes and move to the mountains or the beach. The Northern cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are cooler than the south and so make a good place to stay for the first few days. After that head for the beach. Take you choice from the hedonistic Phuket, the ever so slightly sophisticated Samui or the Royal City of Hua Hin, not forgetting that "Boys on Tour" venue - Pattaya.
In spite of recent poltical troubles, mainly fomented by the ex-Premier Thaksin, the people of Thailand are desperate to welcome back the tourists. We believe that peace has now finally returned, and so can you.
