Tournament Format & Rules

  • Each event will be a 72 Hole Stableford tournament. Play will be off Full handicap. The tournaments are for Men and ladies only.
  • There will also be a fun warm up 4 ball team Am-Am on the first day.  One low handicap (Captain), 2 medium handicaps and 1 Higher Handicap in each team.  Two scores to count on Par 5's, 3 scores to count on Par 4's and all four to count on Par 3's.  A great way to get to know your fellow competitors in a lighthearted competition.
  • In the first 2 rounds players will be drawn to play with others of a similar handicap. In the final two rounds the draw will be made according to position in the tournament.  The leaders will go out last.
  • Where possible play will be from tee boxes giving a course length of between 6,400  and 6,600 yds.
  • On arrival at the club, before the first round, handicaps will be checked.  Your handicap must be up to date from a bona fide golf club, affiliated society.  The maximum handicap allowed will be 18 for men and 30 for ladies.  If your handicap is higher than this you may still play but you will have to play off 18 or 30.   If you are Pensioner (Ladies over 60 and Men over 65) you will be allowed handicaps up to 36 and 24.
  • At each event we will run an OPTIONAL sweep of approx £2.50 per round in the local currency (£12.50 for the tournament) which will be paid out 50% to the winner of each day, 30% to the runner-up and 20% to 3rd place.  Men competing for their stakes and Ladies for theirs. The winning Am Am team will take all.  The Tournament director reserves the right to adjust these payouts depending on numbers attending.
  • There will be a nearest the pin each day and prizes for overall positions down to a minimum of 6th place.
  • Tour Points will be awarded to the Top 10 finishers with 10 Points to 1st place down to 1 point for 10th place.  If a tournament attracts 12 players or less then only even numbers will be awarded. 10 to the winner, 8 to 2nd, 6 to 3rd etc.
  • Tour Points are accumulated up to 10 points. Further points do not bring further credits unless you win another event outright in which case you will be invited to bring a friend the finals.
  • If you qualify for the Grand Finals your return flight from your local airport will be paid.  You will have a half share of a twin room on B & B (you can upgrade to single use for a supplement), free transfers and golf inc caddy and cart. No other expenses will be paid.
  • Play is governed by the R & A Rules of golf. We will not tolerate rules disputes on the course. If there is any doubt as to appropriate action 2 balls must be played and a ruling sought after the round.
